Dana,

I am glad to hear that your babies are drinking now. However, on the glass
tube, I personally would have fears that they may bite off a bit of glass.
I have seen some with metal or plastic tubes. Most of these are made for
Habitrails etc. The glass may not pose a problem, but we chose not to use
it. As far as treats go, we find that our girls love some of the treats
made by VitaKraft (the box has several languages so I assume it is
distributed in several countries). They love the waffles that they make.
They look like the wafers from the sugar wafer cookies we buy for ourselves.
We split each one into 4 quarters and give as a bedtime treat (if that is
what they seem to want). VitaKraft also makes several other treats they
love (dried veggies, cereal, biscuits etc. They also do flavored yogurt
drops (our girls like the milk & honey and strawberry flavors.) As for
other treats, we have peanuts (unsalted and unroasted of course for all the
nuts), sunflower, pine nuts, almonds (which were their first and constant
love) home dried pumpkin seeds, millet, and we found some small bags of
dried fruit which is marketed for birds, but contains nothing but fruit and
food coloring. We have apples, pineapples, papaya, banana and a
carrot/mixed greens veggie pack also. These were ~ $1 each and were worth a
try. If you can't find VitaKraft in a store, go to www.vitakraft.com It is
available in English and German. They seem to only have a section for
hamsters, but the treats say for all small animals, as usual, use good
judgement. Exactly how big is the cage you have for your babies? We are
considering a larger cage in the near future and would love to see a picture
of your set-up!

Wishes for continued good health and happiness for everyone and their
babies!
