We just had two litters two days apart here. One was a litter of 5 but one pup was still born. The other was a first litter for our CP Slate gerbils. She's very young and she had 9. I can see milk through their tummy but she seems very disinterested in them. She's just huddled on the other side of her tank with her mate. I'm wondering if I should try to foster a few of the pups with my other gerbil who's only got 4. This is her third litter and she and her mate have always been good parents. If I do try to foster how do I go about it? I know she's feed the 9 babies because I can see milk in their tummies. I'm just really worried because 9 is such a big litter especially for a first time Mommy. I'd welcome any advice or suggestions. I've made sure the room they're in is quiet and when I've went in to check I've went in alone so they're not startled or disturbed. I just can't get over the sight of all nine of them. I hope someone has some advice for me. Thanks!
