I went to PetsMart to buy rabbit food today and saw some Crittertrail
cage displays.

I've been wanting a more entertaining setup than the 10 gallon tank for
my Duncan, so I ended up buying the CritterTrail 3.

It's a really cool cage. It's very tall and it's mostly wire. There's
a feeding/petting area on top and tubes to get to 3 different side
shelves, a wheel, ... and the option of adding more tubes to it.

I thought that Habitrail type cages weren't for gerbils, but just for
hamsters, but this one said gerbils right on the box.

I think that once Duncan gets over her anxiety over being in a new cage
she's going to love it.

She seems to be roaming around a lot and she won't climb any of the
tubes. Is she going to be ok? I get the impression that she might be
a little anxious. Can I leave her in the new cage or should I put her
back in her old cage for a while to relieve her seeming anxiety.

BTW, the cage cost $39.99. There is a Crittertrail 1, which is much
shorter for $16.99 and a Crittertrail 2 for $29.99. It's about 2/3
the height of number 3.

I was originally going to buy 2 Crittertrail 1s and hook them together
with tubes, but they only had one of those, so I bought the 3 instead
and I think I'm going to hook another smaller cage to that so she has
more places to go.

I'm very excited about my purchase.

Regards,
Sharon

PS. Is there a list on the net of which veggie a gerbil can eat? I want
to print it up and post it on my wall for easy reference.

Thanks
