Hi Guys -- Long time, no hear. This is my fault.
We're having a gEDA cookout at DJ Delorie's house in NH today. We're using this as an opportunity to do some updating of various gEDA packages. (It's been quite a while since we've tried to freshen up the project.) One proposal we floated some time ago is to move all the allied gEDA projects to a single website, gpleda.org: http://www.gpleda.org/ Besides the "marketing" aspect of gathering all the projects under one umbrella (so newbies can find them easily), moving to gpleda also involves moving the main project repo to git, which will make distributed development easier. I believe we floated this idea to several gEDA projects some time ago, and nobody objected strongly. Since then, PCB has migrated to gpleda.org, and the developers working on PCB have been more or less satisfied using git (right, Dan)? Now we're poised to move the main gerbv repo to the git repo on gpleda.org. All the current gerbv developers will get git accounts so they can continue working on the codebase. We are also working on updating the gpleda.org page so that it points to the home pages for all tools from the front page. Just to be clear: In this proposed change, only two things will move to gpleda: The main webpage, and the master repo (which switches to git). The bug trackers, mailing lists, and release downloads stay on SourceForge.net. Are there any objections? Assuming nobody objects, Ales can begin to make the move over the next few days.
