I'd rather have the list, as a set of forums is just another place for me to forget to look at. Email can be filtered and prioritised and sorted in a useful way. (Yeah, I know, The Kids Today don't believe that. But they've grown up with horrible interfaces to their mail, so it's no wonder.) There are certain posters who only seem to contribute to off-topic threads, and I have them killfiled.
