Oops, didnt't mean to admonish you personally; just wanted to be clear about this point, which is a very common point of confusion among people new to RB.

still does not produce the Trademark Symbol using the default System

Yes, absolutely right. Some systems (e.g. Mac OS X) will automatically substitute a glyph from some other font, if the selected font doesn't have one for the character you specify. But I don't believe current versions of Windows do that, so you have to be careful to pick something your font can show.
