Just to report that Aaron's software does the job! However:
RB2006r1 under OS 10.4.4 wouldn't open the project so I saved it from the Windows version as an XML file and this loaded perfectly.
I'll play with the project to see if I can get it to imitate Laplink more closely, purely as a learning experience. If I succeed I'll post the result here.
