Some compiler writer experts do; the ones that work on GNAT, the Gnu Ada compiler. > GUI programming experts don't use ADA. Some GUI programming experts do; the ones that wrote and use GtkAda and QtAda. Blanket statements are always wrong (including this one :). It may be true that there are _more_ compiler writes and/or GUI experts using one language or another. However, that's not the most interesting number. Of more interest is how many of those people are also interested in VHDL, and also in using state-of-the-art tools. Ada was the first internationally standardized object oriented language (the ISO C++ standard was a year after Ada), and continues to be improved (the next ISO version for the Ada standard is due out this year). I prefer using the best tools available. That sometimes means doing work to make them more useful; in the end we all have better tools, which means we can spend more time doing the real work our projects need. C++ has so much support because a lot of people realized it is better than C; C has so much support because a lot of people realized it is better than Fortran or Assembler (etc). Now it's time to move up to Ada. -- -- Stephe _______________________________________________ Ghdl-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/ghdl-discuss
