I think this is an inconsistency between windows and linux. On Windows, you don't need to do the 'ghdl -m' step, and simply try
(note -c -r): ghdl -c -r dlx_test_behaviour

I want to include some of this information that pertains to a newer release of GHDL. Once I get past this snag, and have gone through the rest of the GHDL guide, I'll send updates to this list for suggestions and feedback.
