It looks like a lot has changed since the last release (0.31). Are there any
plans or a schedule for a new release?
Sort of. We branched 0.32rc1 in November, but (a) I haven't been very
active thanks to some life stuff, (b) Tristan has been ploughing ahead
full steam on the trunk, (c) David K has hit all kinds of off-nominal
behaviour building 0.32rc1 for Mac, and as a result (mainly of (a)) I
haven't pushed the release forward.
At this point since 0.32 hasn't happened yet I'm tempted to suggest
updating the 0.32 branch to tip and re-tagging it 0.32rc2. I'm in better
shape now to push ghdl forward again, though still not fully back in
action.
What do people and especially Tristan think of this approach?
I agree that releasing 0.32 (as it is currently) is a little
bit pointless. Better to rebranching again.
Within a few months, gcc 5.0 will be released. I think we'd
better to have a release (with gcc 4.9) before or just after.
If we wait too long, we will need to first switch to gcc 5.0
backend.
If you (Brian) think you have enough time to make a release
soon, I fully agree with your approach. I don't think that
issues reported by David K on Mac are blocking for Linux.
We could investigate and fix that later.
Tristan.
