Now it's getting strange ... I copied the complete code into one file and called 'ghdl.exe -a test.vhdl' on it. No message at all. I also checked if every ghdl.exe reports it's version number corresponding to it's installation directory.
So what's the difference besides analyzing other packages before the testbench
file?
Even splitting the code into 2 files doesn't change anything it still works.
I also assigned the package and testbench to different libraries but no change.
I hate bugs with hysteresis effect ...
Maybe, I should go to bed and rethink ...
Regards
Patrick

You can test it without your library:
package physical is
type FREQ is range 0 to INTEGER'high units
Hz;
kHz = 1000 Hz;
MHz = 1000 kHz;
GHz = 1000 MHz;
-- THz = 1000 GHz;
end units;
end package;
--library PoC;
--use PoC.physical.all;
use work.physical.all;
entity misc_Noise_tb is
end;
architecture test of misc_Noise_tb is
constant CLOCK_FREQ : FREQ := 100.0 MHz;
begin
-- empty
end architecture;
I think any data points on where it goes bad on Windows are worthwhile.
You could 'hunt' further down the release tree assuming ghdl mcode is
relatively painless to build on Windows.
