Many users and developers were hoping for GIMP 2.4 to be released around the end of summer last year. Alas, that didn't happen because it took a long time to fix some nasty bugs, then it was decided to include some new features because the release was not ready anyway, then more bugs popped in, then it also took a while to fix them, then even more features were added, even more bugs were discovered and fixed, and so on... It is not surprising that the authors of some books were hoping for 2.4 to be released earlier. Maybe they were a bit too optimistic, but I wouldn't blame them for that. Now that we already have the first release candidate with lots of nice features (and a few bugs that have already been fixed), we are finally getting very close to the official release of GIMP 2.4. -Raphaël _______________________________________________ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
