You may want to consider Ghostscript. This was done on linux with the following command and ghostscript gs -dSAFER -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pngmono -r100 -dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=234 -dDEVICEHEIGHTPOINTS=234 -sOutputFile=$2.png $1.eps http://watson.bio.whe.umb.edu/images/page4.png Mike
