Hello all! New guy here. Back when I had to use MS Windows (I've retired) I used Notepad++ a lot and even contributed several color schemes/themes. Now that I am able to use a Linux desktop, I've found geany to be relatively congenial and have decided to port my favorite color scheme to geany. So far I'm reasonably happy with what I've got, but there are several questions. The problem is that I can't figure out what triggers several of the "styles" so I can't manage to see them in context.
1. What are "call_tips"? What kind of file would show them? Or is it some kind of preference? Some of the other schemes style them as reverse colors kind of like the "CR" and "LF" line ending characters you see when you "show line endings" in the "View" menu. 2. Speaking of the line ending characters, another "named style" is "string_eol" but again, I can't figure out how to make that appear. It is clearly NOT the style for the line ending characters, so what is it? 3. And how about "label"? Labels are a feature of several languages (Ada, C, Perl, BASIC, Assembler, and more), but when I look at, e.g., a Perl file that has a label, the label shows up in the identifier color. Admittedly, this may not be totally crazy, but it's not what I assigned and why is there a style called label if labels don't use it? 4. And then there's "decorator" which, similarly, I can't find an example of. I would really appreciate it if some kind soul could point me to some examples where geany recognizes these constructs so I can see them and then can decide on a non-crazy way to style them.
