rovf left a comment (geany/geany#4627) To test my guess, I made the following experiment: With geany not running, I changed the value of msgwindow_position in session.conf with a text editor to 850 and in geany.conf to 800. However after starting Geany, the split as still as shown in the screenshot. Hence Geany takes the inital msgwindow_position from somewhere else.
