@Tom-Newton I'll make the time change. ADLFS handles this issue similarly. If https://github.com/fsspec/adlfs/blob/adb9c53b74a0d420625b86dd00fbe615b43201d2/adlfs/spec.py#L1060 They have a parameter you can set to suppress a warning, but that was alot more work, which I'm happy to do if necessary.
