it does seem a bit clunky, and has a downside in that it technically keeps the old metadata around if we were replacing it. im of the mind to go with option A since we already have some other breaking changes to the ffi structs in the coming 60.0.0 release 🤔 though the PR that adds this `with_metadata` is pretty old so more likely for it to be used downstream - https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/3944 -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
