I recall a number of issues writing data frames over 4GB with the old `feather` package, there were some other issues in the past, and there may be some existing Jira issues, too. https://github.com/wesm/feather/issues/380 https://github.com/wesm/feather/issues/372 It would be good to get to the bottom of the various issues here at least from the `arrow::` package side.
