Review comment:
There was some discussions about the meaning of 'best effort' previously
on the list. To my understanding, best effort should be read in a way as 'is
always done, but we cannot guarantee if e.g. jvm dies'. So yes, it is always
worth it, and we should not overstate this 'best effort' thingy. Most likely we
are in some erratic state then and there are no guarantees anyway.
