I'd be surprised if the overhead of a non-selective filter like `"EventDate" > -inf AND "EventDate" < inf` (or some other small/large bounds) made a significant impact, but it's possible. > in turn qualifies more files for scanning than with filter pushdown turned off. This part doesn't make sense to me.
