Fixed by #5227: the rename-only case now delegates to arrow's map cast, and the hand-built path carries the target sorted flag. The entries null buffer cannot be lost because MapArray::try_new rejects entries with nulls, which the code now documents, and test_cast_map_to_map_both_paths_agree pins the two paths to the same output. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
