Updated in 137d3c0: the probe now preserves short hash runs and catches 64-row runs; the requested probe regression and 12 writer benchmark cases are checked in, and the helper links apache/arrow-rs#11379. Validation: formatting/whitespace checks pass. A standalone harness against Arrow 59.3.0 passes three tests covering the exact gather helper, 40 differential combinations, probe dispatch, and writer fixture types/nulls. The complete benchmark source passes a Rust metadata/type check against prepared dependencies. The harness calls the helper directly rather than the producer, and the full modified crate test/build is still pending CI; local Cargo builds were stopped when dependency rebuilds approached the shared disk limit. Current-head performance timings have not been collected.
