I am heavily focused on performance, particularly low-level optimizations where we're not always getting the benefits of vectorization, SIMD, and cache-friendly execution. For example, arrow-rs: - https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/issues/11421 - https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/11829 - https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/11818 - https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/11896 I have a number of promising candidates in DataFusion that I will start filing this week that I think still fit within the broader efforts of simpler, more understandable, and more maintainable code. Because I'm working on these low-level operations, I have also revisited correctness.
