I made additional tests. I set Unicorn worker_processes=3, timeout=40. Results are similar: serveral fetches <2s then fetch ~42s. New symptom: some fetches ~1m23s, some fetches fail with the message below: fatal: unable to access 'https://*.*.*.*/mygroup/myproject.git/': The requested URL returned error: 502
Upgrading Apache to 2.4 changed nothing. Fetching the same repository over SSH always gives times ~2-3s.
