IT share in GDP lesser than required: Haider

Big potential for foreign IT firms, says Hafeez

The port city of the country has proved that there is a lot of business
potential for IT related business and foreign firms are coming to
Pakistan to invest in the form of venture capital and other funds. Sindh
Finance Minister and Vice Chairman Sindh IT Board, Dr Abdul Hafeez
Shaikh expressed these views at a Media Show, oraganised in connection
with ITCN Asia 2001 at a local hotel here on Sunday.

MoUs worth $200m signed for software exports

KARACHI: Minister for Science and Technology Prof Dr Atta ur Rahman on
Sunday said Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to the tune of over $200
million had been signed during ITCN Asia 2001 Exhibition. Dr
Atta-ur-Rehman told The News that he attended the ceremony of signing of
two-software development MoUs. KalSoft Private Limited signed two MoUs
with two visiting foreign firms, one from the United States and the
other from Singapore.
