Hello Everyone, I just received glasses I ordered online. I went out on a limb and ordered 4 pairs from Googles 4 U. Everything looked fine with the glasses. I liked the frames and they fit well. I made sure to measure my current glasses to get a sense of what would work best for me. But when I put them on the prescription felt a little "off." Not so much wrong as off-kilter. I feel like I have to strain a little to focus and keep things sharp. Almost as if I have one "lazy" eye. After a few days of wearing, things haven't improved and I'm having some mild headaches when I wear them. At this point I've taken them in to a local optometrist to make sure the lenses have the correct prescription. Unfortunately, they don't.
My prescription: Right Eye -5.25 x -1.25 x 10 x N/A Left Eye -6.00 x -0.75 x 170 x N/A PD 67 Usage Distance Pair 1: Right Eye -5.25 x -1.25 x 12 (PSM 0.00 OUT / 0.00 DWN) Left Eye -6.00 x -0.75 x 175 (PSM 0.25 IN 0.25 UP) Pair 2: Right Eye -5.25 x -1.25 x 12 (PSM 0.00 OUT / 0.00 DWN) Left -6.00 x -0.75 x 176 (PSM 0.00 IN / 0.75 DWN) Pair 3: Right Eye -5.25 x -1.25 x 14 (PSM 0.00 OUT / 0.00 DWN) Left -6.00 x -0.75 x 175 (PSM 0.00 IN / 0.25 DWN) Pair 4: Right Eye -5.25 x -1.25 x 6 (PSM 0.00 OUT / 0.00 DWN) Left Eye -6.00 x -0.75 x 166 (PSM 0.00 IN / 0.50 DWN) The axis measure is off on all of them but only by a couple of degrees. My optometrist thinks that anything over 2 or 3 degrees is beyond acceptable lab error and accounts for the strangeness of my vision. He was said the prism being off in the left and right eye is also a problem. I was just wondering if the difference between the prescription and what I got sent seems egregiously bad to other people. My optometrist is the same guy who wrote the prescription. He was skeptical, but curious about the online glasses thing and I don't think he would be flubbing the info he gave me. I trust him...although it was annoying to have spend a half an hour listening to him say "I told you so" about ordering glasses online. I'm feeling a little bit like an idiot since I should have just gotten one pair to make sure everything would be cool. I've emailed Goggles 4 U and am waiting to hear back. Thanks in advance for any help. Corey --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://www.glassyeyes.com!
