Consumer Beware: For anyone who considers ordering eyeglasses from Zenni Optical.com I ordered eyeglasses from Zenni twice in the past, once in August 2008 and again in October 2008. I was initially pleased with both orders, receiving them within one week of placing the order. Apparently, those were the good ole days. I recently placed an order for two pair of eyeglasses, single vision with anti-reflective coatings on both pair. I order these glasses on January 3, 09, over three weeks ago, and I still haven’t received my eyeglasses. When I called Zenni, when they finally picked up the phone calls, I received one excuse after another. First I was told that the order was late due the Holidays, Second I was told that the order arrived in their office; one pair on the 15th and the second pair on the 16th of January, then I was given a FedEx tracking number to confirm the shipment from China to California which indicated that both orders actually arrived on January 20th. I just placed a call to Zenni yesterday on the 28th of January and I was told that the order is being detained by US Customs at their warehouse in California. My order was placed on January 3rd ,09, today is the 29th of January, I’ve been had. What can I do? Zenni has my money and I have no eyeglasses to show for it. Whenever I call them, I receive v-mail or some babbling idiot trying to put one over on me. Their website states that I can only receive half the cost of the order placed minus shipping and handling if I am unsatisfied, however , they never mention the fact that you may never receive your order at all. Go figure!
