I have a high plus prescription, so I need High Index 1.67 or 1.74 lenses.
I've found that Optical Chic (www.opticalchic.com) offers 1.67 or 1.74 High Index Aspheric Lenses for the lowest prices: (This is sending them your existing frames for new lenses only) They quoted 1.67 High Index Aspheric Re-Lens at $35.00 for prescriptions below +3.00/-8.00, $45.00 for prescriptions higher than that, +$10.00 for drill mounting. In my prescription, that's $55.00 before shipping. This price includes A/R coating. 1.74 High Index Aspheric Re-Lens at $130.00 for prescriptions below +3.00/-8.0, $140.00 for prescriptions higher than that, +$10.00 for drill mounting. Has anyone else done a similar study? Any better prices? It's worth noting that 39dollarglasses offers Seiko 1.67 Aspherics for $88.95, +$39.00 for prescriptions over +3.00/-8.00, +$24.95 for A/R and +$10.00 for drill mounting. In my prescription, that's $162.90 before shipping. Eyeglass Lens Direct offers basically the same package for $247.00.
