that would be a randomly generated sprite that's painted several times on the 
screen. doable but not my task.

Then I could also also imagine sources, or springs instead of wells.

we already have the pool where it would be nice to have animated water

sure. and a thunderstorm with flashes and an tornado from time to time? the 
smoother the effect the easier. rain is very structured. you would need sprites 
here.

i'll look into teleporters now and will not commit to HEAD before the next 
release i guess.
