Subject: [Glpi-user] WebAuth for GLPI with no password?

Hello,
I have GLPI working and using my departmental LDAP directory. However,
for all of our intranet applications we use Pubcookie
(www.pubcookie.org) to provide authentication before any intranet
page/application is reached. This "Webauth"-type technology provides
the Apache environment variable REMOTE_USER.
I have been looking at GLPI login.php and auth.class.php with the idea
of eliminating need to provide id/password -- simply use REMOTE_USER and
initially put new user in lowest privilege profile. Use existing LDAP
lookup to add additional user info (email, telephone) to GLPI user record.
I think I can see how to make this work for me. Before I start, is
anyone already working on this? Also, perhaps making it official under
GLPI setup?
I have found, with this type of persistent authentication, it is very
important to add your actual user ID to super/admin group *before*
turning on WebAuth :)
Merci en avance,
Jim
