@saju: thank you for the clarification. I’ll add my two cents in the discussion.
What surprises me still is that I cannot find the removal of this feature in any user accessible documentation. If I missed it somehow, please let me know where to look. There is nothing in the change information, release notes or upgrade guide of gluster 8. The transport option is still documented as available and accepted by the CLI.
