I didn't get to finish my reply. I guess I hit the wrong key. Whoops. This problem is happening with a lot of users. I use IE10 and Windows 8 and I am having the same problem. None of fixes I read have worked, and some of them are way out there. It is something Google needs to correct. In the meantime I found that I can hit the "enter" key once or twice before I start typing my message and it won't jump or hide the type. Kind of stupid, but it works.
