Can the configure script detect the ffmpeg automatically?
I compiled the gnash using scratchbox
the way I configure
./configure --with-boost-incl=xxxx --with-boost-lib=xxxx
-with-agg-incl=xxxx --with-agg-lib=xxxx --enable-gui-sdl
But I didn't use --enable-media=ffmpeg
is that because my hardware requirement is not met for gnash which
caused the video very slow?

Yes, but the video will be very slow. Have you tried compiling with
--enable-media=ffmpeg ?
