Yes it's in development stage. What we have right now is called gNewSense 3.0 beta 1 (codename: metad) and it is available as an iso image. You can burn it or create a bootable usb key. It does only netinstall so you need to be connected to the internet. Iso Image is here: i386: http://archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-metad/installer/current/i386/netboot/mini.iso amd64: http://archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-metad/installer/current/amd64/netboot/mini.iso mipsel: http://archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-metad/installer/current/mipsel/loongson/netboot/ gNewSense 3.0 stable (codename: Parkes) will be ready when it's ready. :) > 2) Suppose I can't immediately get coreboot for the VIA chipset/board > system I am considering. Should I then specify Ubuntu Hardy (for 2.3) or > Debian Lenny (for 3.0) as the OS for the driver I need at VIA's website? gNewSense 2.3 is based on Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04. gNewSense 3.0 beta 1 is based on Debian Lenny gNewSense 3.0 stable (to be released) will be based on Debian Squeeze. > Where could I possibly get some help with drivers? Yes we provide help only for gNewSense here. -- Graziano Sorbaioli - http://sorbaioli.org gNewSense Community Manager _______________________________________________ gNewSense-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnewsense-users
