as earlier you may find the initrd as follows;
http://www.otavalaiset.net/stuff/initrd_2.6.37_metad_0.2.gz
at least for me it appears to work - stay waiting your comments
/mc
PS. i do not know what is relationship between gNewSense and Debian,
but to me it would be obvious that the initrd should be edited so that
it would not say 'Debian' in any step ...
PPS. http://www.otavalaiset.net is homepage of the village i'm living
in - and one may notice it has been made in rather minimalistic way -
wonder...

how did you get the system installed = what about the metad file ?
cp /usr/share/debootstrap/scripts/sid /usr/share/debootstrap/scripts/metad
/mc
( i'm not able to do nothing write now because of kids - and weather
= i'll explain later )
I understand, I should be working + take care of the kids (only 2 here!)
instead of hacking chinese boxes ;-)
boot the newintrd.gz and shift to an other virtual console to be able
to copy the kernel from your usb stick to the hd and modules from
ram filesystem to hd
Fine! Thank you for your advice!
I make another try a bit later
Regards
Samy
