  The system will run.  However, the device tree in the registry will be
invalid.  Or so claimed MS PSS.  Remember, MS-Windows is an extremely
delicate system.  You know how we complain that MS-Windows crashes all the
time?  A large part of that is due to the fact that it handles things like
this so poorly.  Sure, everything *looks* okay, but the Jenga tower has just
become a lot more unstable.

  Or maybe they fixed this in Windows ME.  I doubt it, though.  :-)
