To split hairs, the megaraid driver was replaced c. 2005 with a new one,
which abandons some of the old hardware.  You can imagine how I know
this, but it's true, the LSI-branded stuff seems to always work well.
I've got a stack of three of 'em sitting on my workbench for a nexenta
box (they work well on multiple OS's).
