Ok, time to delurk again...
I have a clent who recently hosed their mail server... which is why they
called me, as their usual admin is in Germany for a few weeks....
Here's the setup as far as I've gotten: Linux-Mandrake 7.2 is installed
on a PII300/256MB RAM/20GB HDD. NetGear XM128 ISDN terminal adapter
(modem) on the parallel port. IP chains and POP3 server are running
fine. The ISDN goes to shore.net OK if I use linuxconf, but won't work
for diald (I know, it sucks, but the client wanted dial-on-demand) at
all. I installed eznet to help configure diald, but eznet works only as
long as diald isn't called and either way refuses to set the default
route. Even when specifically told to do so. Sendmail works fine as
long as we're connected but mail that is supposed to be spooled at
shore.net bounces if we aren't connected.
Here, I see 2 problems I need help with:
1. I haven't found a useful howto for dial-on-demand and diald has
documentation that makes M$'s docs look useful. Eznet looks to just be
broken. So I'm lost there.
2. Where can I set sendmail to use ETRN or whatever I need to tell shore
not to bounce the email?
Any help would be much appreciated...
thanks,
Brian
