I was down Tue and Wed of last week. I talked to one of the line repair guys that was doing an install next door, and he said that they have been having a ton of trouble since the 11th becuase of destroyed fiber in NY, and they have to re-route traffic on a daily basis. At one time, they were going to offer static IP addresses for an extra fee, but I haven't seen anything about that in a while. I almost considered Verizon DSL, but they don't offer static IP's yet, either. I was told by a Verizon sales rep that they expire their leases every 6 hours!
