Alright, on the behalf of this friend of a friend who recently installed mandrake, here's the problem, he wasn't supposed to install mandrake.
To be more specific the kids problem lies with LILO's presence on the MBR. His father is to arrive home sometime in the next three hours and isn't to know of linux's existence on the disk as he feels that it's pirated or something and his son wasn't supposed to be playing around with such things as the OS. His situation is like this, he's dual-booting Windows XP and Mandrake and he needs to get rid of LILO (he's got a boot floppy). I showed him some links that may have related information like the Linux Documentation Project and other useful places but nothing has yet to work. He's a bit strapped for time (3 hours mentioned above) so at approx.6:30pm this is no longer a problem for better or worse. If you've got any advice and have a grudge against 'reply-all' then his e-mail address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Most covertly, Alex Gallichon PS I realize this deceitfulness is wrong, but another Linux user may come out of his success.
