Just passing this on--some of the language is geared towards commercial AT
vendors, but it does ask about Linux tools, and part of the goal is to
identify what works well on various platforms and can be used as a
positive example.

Assistive Technology
Development Tools Satisfaction Survey
TO: All
Assistive Technology Developers
This survey is being conducted by the Accessibility Interoperability
Alliance, the technical division of ATIA. It is a critical first step toward
an ultimate goal to
improve the accessibility of mainstream software applications. We will achieve
this goal by communicating to application developers key do's and don'ts as
well as advising
the accessibility architect community on the common struggles of providing
access to mainstream software. Ultimate success of this effort hinges on the
knowledge of those
most intimate with the topic of
software accessibility, you the AT developer.
This beginning step is the first of four
phases of our effort. The four phases are as follows:
Phase 1: (This survey) Identify which aspects of accessibility
technologies are important for creating AT products that users can rely on.
Phase 2 (if needed): Follow-up with AT
developers to get specifics of the top problem areas.
Phase 3: Present
findings and conclusions to ATIA members.
Phase 4: Influence the application developer community by
publishing examples of best practices, and specific areas that need more
investment.
We expect that you are interested in the success of this initiative as it leads
to the success of your products. Having said that, please know that we are
aware of, and are
highly sensitive to the need
to protect proprietary knowledge. Therefore,
We ask that you respond to this survey by Friday, April 29 2011 and pass
it along to other colleagues within your organization who play a role in the
development
process.
Take the survey.
this survey does not ask
you for any proprietary information.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire. Depending on your
experience with AT technologies, we estimate this survey will take from 10 to
30 minutes to
complete.
Thank your customer, tell them how valuable they
are to you, but don't go overboard. Insincerity is easy to spot.
Sincerely,
[atia.org]
