I don't understand what you mean by the text editing abilities of Do? What I'm simply talking about is to allow Do to use gnome-terminal, it doesn't even need to be like I suggested maybe something like this http://thelinuxmovement.blogspot.com/2007/11/awn-terminal-applet.html? Yes I was thinking of something like Guake, a terminal that is always open, that you could access any time and one that closes when you aren't using it.
