I suggest that you bring this up with the Ekiga developers and ask what they have to say, and possibly also involve the expert linguists in the Doc team (gnome-doc-list) to hear their opinion. If the consensus is that original terminology should be changed, then file bug reports (albeit the resolution will probably have to wait after string freeze).
