As far as i know it has always worked.  Its been used in both
the standchen examples.
Btw, a bracket (or a three or whatever) is never displayed for
lyrics, of course.

Yes of course.  This should be (more pronounced?) in the TODO.

A nice typesetting hack, i'll use that in los-toros for now!
