running lilypond

Hello.

I am trying to see the first demonstration. When I execute ly2dvi
angels.ly,  it creates a MIDI file. However I get a warning: Can't find
'2.ly'. Afterwards, it says:
ly2dvi hmm, I could not find an output file.

Any suggestions?
