This might be irrelevant, but if you were to have a file called
"foo.2" and you were to give the command "lilypond foo.2",  You would
get the error response that lilypond can't find "init.2"

I don't know what the naming conventions are on non-unix systems; but
can lilypond be thinking "2.ly" is an extension?
