Hello,

under sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1 a database of the manpages can be created
with "catman". If a man page in file XXX.1 starts with:
.TH "AAA" "1" "1998" "The BBB package" "The GNU Project Music Typesetter"
.PP
.PP
.SH "NAME"
CCC \- the GNU Music Typesetter
.PP
...

the corresponding database entry becomes
CCC CCC (1/) - the GNU Music Typesetter .PP

and "man CCC" does not work because the man page is called XXX.1, not CCC.1.

To me this seems to be a bug of makewhatis, copyrighted by AT&T and Sun.
Is this the only operating system with problems?

Eric
