I think so :-). I upgraded my SuSE 6.1 to SuSE 6.2 (SuSE is a german
linux distributor like redhat), I did not do any upgrading by
hand. Therefore I think it should work together. KDE as an example of
a large c++ applications works fine.

ldd of lilypond gives:
 ldd lilypond
        libguile.so.4 => /usr/lib/libguile.so.4 (0x4001d000)
        libqthreads.so.0 => /usr/lib/libqthreads.so.0 (0x4008d000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x4008f000)
        libncurses.so.4 => /lib/libncurses.so.4 (0x40092000)
        libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 => /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 (0x400d7000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x4011f000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4013c000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

and in /usr/lib I found

libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 -> libstdc++-2-libc6.1-1-2.9.0.so

I do not see any harmful. Do you need any further infos about my system?

Klaus.
