As a very frequent user of mtx/pmx I tend to say that these formats are not as simple
as they might look at first sight. And you will encounter problems with things possible
in lilypond but yet not in mtx/pmx, for example xtuplets with non-equal length notes.
Another difficulty is that lilypond and pmx behave very different as to the
distribution of measures on systems and pages. While Lilypond takes her own decisions
pmx has to know what the typesetter wants. When it comes to converting music with
lyrics (to mtx) I guess that a conversion method would really hard to implement.
