You're using guile-1.3.4, I presume?  Lilypond-1.3.75 should already
have fixes for your problems.
I'm curious, how did you solve the kpathsea issue, and what flavour
of TeX do you use?

Esp. for Windows, I included a configuration option to leave out kpathsea;
it would be better to have kpathsea work on windows too.  There are a
few more issues concerning cygwin; I'm making regular binaries available
from

    http://appel.dyndns.org/lilypond/gnu-windows

but testing and `debugging' is awkward, because these binaries are
generated by cross-building (on my Linux/ppc box); I don't run Windows
myself.
